I'm no Newbie to NY, this is my 15th time here. I walk the streets and ride the subways without a map. But I've haven't grown tired of photographing the city that never fails to excite me.
I've been convince that this photo has been taken a billion times. I believe this to be a fallacy because very shot can be made unique in some way. So I decided not to focus just directly on the buildings.
Its been crazy day: got into NYC @ 5am and left at 11pm.
Seen all sides during this trip:
helped a japanese guy to DC (stranded in NYC because of the Tsunami)
When to Jersey to see a Sunrise
Find BHphoto CLOSED for the weekend ....
walked the highline
had ramen near aster place
get yelled at for taking pictures at the Lincoln center
Sushi and $4 Cookies up in 74th street.
Sunset at Top of the Rocks (picture above)
Witness a engagement proposal at skating ring downstairs
first in line for the Dizzy Coca Cola Club, Front row table for jazz night
But 1st to leave the place feeling like a real asshole (had to catch a bus home)
Ran for the bus.........
And finally Slept all the way home
-- why tell this story with this photo? Explains the incredible amount of energy in this shot and this city.
Fantastic shot with colors that really pop. The composition is great with all the tourists reveling in the city sights from the best place in the city to see them. Top of the Rock is hands down the best skyline view of the city from within the city

Anyway, I've featured this in my journal here: [link]
